The Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program (aka: Food Stamps) is the federal/state government assistance program to provide those on low income with assistance in feeding one’s self. This is not intended to cover all of your food, but to help you with a hand up. Assuming it costs $250 – $300 per month for one person to eat three meals a day. For SNAP, I receive $115, and I contribute $115 in my income to cover the expenses of eating. With that in mind, I eat breakfast, and dinner – skipping lunch due to cost of food. I receive SNAP benefits typically around the 12th day of the month. This is fine as I adjusted to this off day.
