I have to rely on both cash, and SNAP for my food purchases. This does not include going to a restaurant. For those purchases, I use my discretionary spending. When I buy food, I will spend my SNAP benefits before I rely on cash. If I have cash at the end of the month, that just goes into my cash fund.
In regards to grocery shopping. I have. two choices. One, I could pay a friend of mine to take me to the grocery store, and I will bring home 3-4 bags of groceries. In turn, I compensate her for the effort. The other option is to take a bus to the nearest grocery store, and buy groceries for the week. Each option has advantages and disadvantages. I just work with what I can, and how I can.
